Handloom Silk Saree

Woven on a pit loom over roughly nine days, this saree is pure mulberry silk with a traditional gold zari border.

The aubergine body deepens in low light, which is why it photographs so differently indoors and out. Each piece is finished by hand, so a slub or a slight shift in the weave is part of it, not a fault.

Dry clean only. Store folded in the muslin sleeve it arrives in, and refold along a different line every few months so the zari does not crease.
